| Dr.
Barry F. Beck is a Senior Hydrogeologist and Vice-President
for Karst. Dr. Beck serves as Chief of Operations for PELA's
office in Oak Ridge, Tennessee. He is registered as a Certified
Professional Geologist with the American Institute of Professional
Geologists and as a Professional Geologist in Florida, Georgia,
Indiana, Kentucky, Missouri, Pennsylvania, and Tennessee. Dr.
Beck served as Director of the Florida Sinkhole Research Institute
for nine years. As an internationally recognized karst specialist,
he is responsible for organizing PELA's highly acclaimed series
of conferences on sinkholes and karst and is the main editor
of all the proceedings. He is Chairman of the Karst Task Force
of the Geo-Institute of the American Society of Civil Engineers.
Dr. Beck has been called "the foremost authority on sinkholes
in the world." |
Dr.
Philip E. LaMoreaux is PELA's founder and serves as Senior
Hydrogeologist and Technical Advisor, providing oversight, review,
and quality control for selected PELA projects. He has decades
of experience as a specialist in karst hydrology. Dr. LaMoreaux
is a Certified Professional Geologist and is registered as a
Professional Geologist in eleven states. He is the editor of
the journal Environmental Geology and has served as Chief of
the U.S. Geological Survey Ground Water Branch, Alabama State
Geologist, President of the International Association of Hydrogeologists,
and Editor-in-Chief of Hydrology of Limestone Terranes-Annotated
Bibliography of Carbonate Rocks.

| Dr.
Bashir Ahmed Memon
is a Senior Hydrogeologist and serves as PELA's Executive Vice
President. He is registered as a Certified Professional Geologist
with the American Institute of Professional Geologists and as
a Professional Geologist in fourteen states. Dr. Memon has directed
a variety of karst projects involving complex hydrogeologic
and water-quality investigations, as well as water-resource
development programs. Dr. Memon is an expert on aquifer testing.
He has published extensively, including a paper on landfills
in karst terranes. |
Dr.
Wanfang Zhou
is a Senior Hydrogeologist and Geophysicist. He serves as Assistant
Chief of Technical Operations for PELA's office in Oak Ridge,
Tennessee. He is registered as a Professional Geologist in Tennessee.
Dr. Zhou has an extensive background in applied hydrogeology,
including geophysical investigations, groundwater tracing, groundwater
modeling, and control of karst groundwater flow in mines. Dr.
Zhou has directed and participated many projects since joining
PELA. He has published extensively in karst hydro-geophysics,
dye tracing, groundwater modeling, and mine water control. He
serves on the Editorial Board of Environmental Geology. |

Mr. Arthur J. Pettit
is a geologist, computer scientist, and project manager. He
graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1996 and has
specialized experience in hydrogeological studies in karst
terrane, including groundwater tracing, geophysical prospecting,
water table mapping, and use of borehole video cameras. He
is registered as a Professional Geologist in Tennessee, a
member of the East Tennessee Geological Society, a life member
of the National Speleological Society, a member of the East
Tennessee Grotto of the NSS and holds an advanced open-water
scuba diver certification.

Mr.
Gheorge M. Ponta is a geologist. He has performed site investigations
in karst areas for water-supply and contamination studies. He
has supervised the drilling and installation of monitoring wells,
performed collection and description of lithologic samples,
performed sampling and monitoring of ground and surface water,
and assisted with data compilation and report preparation. Mr.
Ponta is certified for working on hazardous-waste sites per
OSHA regulations in 29 CFR 1910.120. |
| Ms.
Jie Wang is a geologist and has over 15 years' experience
in hydrogeology and engineering geology. She has been involved
in geological, groundwater hydrology and specialized karst investigations.
She has assisted PELA with geophysical data collection, groundwater
monitoring, data processing and interpretation. She is knowledgeable
in statistical analysis for evaluating various factors that
influence water quality in karst groundwater monitoring programs.
